Brek Shea's move to Stoke City looks to be back on again, with American soccer blogger Ives Galarcep reporting that the FC Dallas midfielder left for England on
Monday to complete a medical after MLS, FC Dallas and Stoke agreed to a transfer fee. Barring a failed physical, the 22-year-old will be joining fellow USA international Geoff
Cameron at the Premier League club.
The details of the transfer fee are unknown. Stoke had made an initial $3 million offer for Shea, but FC Dallas wanted $4 million.
Coach Tony Pulis was uneasy about the price given Shea’s long-term foot injury and the fact that the club’s coaches hadn’t seen him train, but Galarcep says
that once they were given assurances about his health, the move became a matter of passing a physical. The fee will likely be in the region of $3.5 to $4 million.
