Ancelotti: Who Could Say No to Real Madrid?

Carlo Ancelotti on Monday sprinkled fresh doubt on his future at Paris Saint-Germain by admitting that it would be impossible to turn down the chance to coach Real Madrid. In an interview with TVE, the Italian said: "I don't think there is a single coach in the world who could say no to a club like Real Madrid. It would be very difficult to turn something like that down. All I can say for now, though is that I am happy at PSG at the moment."

In a separate interview, the former Chelsea coach revealed that next season -- the final year of his contract at PSG -- would only be activated if the club finishes in the top-three in Ligue 1, thus qualifying for the 2013/2014 UEFA Champions League. However, with PSG currently leading the league by six points, he is sure to be given another year, unless, as he says, the club’s management decides it is unhappy with him at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, Ancelotti’s comments about his future are awkward considering the situation at Real Madrid, where coach Jose Mourinho is sure to depart the club this summer after a disastrous domestic campaign that has seen Los Blancos fall 16 points behind La Liga leader Barcelona. The Portuguese is also rumored to be at odds with club officials and even his own players, meaning the Spanish giant will be actively looking for a replacement this summer. Ancelotti seems to be saying he would always be available for that job.

PSG travels to the Mestalla tonight for the first-leg of its Champions League Round of 16 tie with Valencia.
