The individual's sexual orientation means nothing...it's how you perform on the field is what counts.
Robbie Rogers was an outstanding player, at The University of Maryland, in MLS, overseas, and with the U.S. National Team, as well as a fine competitor and sportsman. That's what matters.
How does publicly stating you enjoy having anal sex with other men, and the n quitting the sport make you brave? Who is saying you can't be gay and pursue your profession or dreams? How about keeping your private life private, and just go out and play the game you love. As it is Rogers was struggling in anonymity on the fringes of pro soccer, and now he is championed by millions who confuse one's private sexual choices with civil rights.
