Castillo helps Tijuana win in Libertadores Cup debut

[AMERICANA ABROAD] Edgar Castillo set up Richard Ruiz for the lone goal as
Mexican champion Tijuana beat Millonarios, 1-0, in Bogota in the Libertadores Cup opener for both teams. Joe Corona also started and played 67 minutes for the
Xolos, who had never played in the South American club competition.
Castillo, whose distribution was excellent all game, sent a cross into the area, where Ruiz was free on the far side.
The Mexican fired a bullet that gave Millonarios goalie Luis Delgado no chance for the lone goal in the 61st minute.
Daniel Marquez had scored for the Xolos minutes earlier, but the goal was wrongly called back for offside.
Former Seattle Sounders star Fredy Montero headed the Millonarios attack. The Colombian club finished with a 16-4 edge in shots but never looked like scoring after it fell behind.
A second former MLS
player, Jorge Perlaza (Portland and Philadelphia), came on for Millonarios in the 63rd minute.
