Canada-USA, the rematch, is set

[DATEBOOK] The USA will face Canada for the first time in women's soccer since their memorable 2012 Olympic semifinal when they meet June 2 at Toronto's BMO
Field. The game will also serve as a kickoff of sorts to the countdown to the 2015 Women's World Cup, which will be held in Canada -- but not in Toronto.
The USA won, 4-3, in overtime en
route to its third straight gold medal but not before Canada went ahead three times on goals by Christine Sinclair.
FIFA later handed Sinclair a
four-game suspension and fined her $3,500 for remarks made to the game's match officials.
U.S. Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association have since cooperated on the creation of the new
NWSL, which will feature international players from the USA, Canada and Mexico.
“High quality matches on foreign soil are always tremendous challenges and are excellent environments
for our team to grow,” said new U.S. coach Tom Sermanni of the match. “Surely the USA-Canada match will be filled with emotion and these are the
type of games our players very much look forward to.”
The six venues for the 2015 Women's World Cup will be Winnipeg, Moncton, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver.
BMO Field was opened for the 2007 Under-20 World Cup, but Toronto didn't bid on the 2015 Women's World Cup. It will instead host the 2015 Pan American Games.
