[AWARDS] Taylor Eller, who helped Melbourne High School win a Florida state championship, and Chris Nichols, a senior goalkeeper from Vista Ridge High School (Cedar Park, Texas), were named the NSCAA High School Players of the Week.

Eller, a junior midfielder, scoreda goal in the shootout and contributed an assist on Melbourne’s lone goal in regulation as it won the Class 4A girls state championship game, 4-2 in a shootout after their game with George Jenkinsfinished 1-1.

It is the third title in five years for Melbourne and their fourth overall.

Nichols, a 2012 All-District goalkeeper, had three saves in Vista Ridge’s lastdistrict game, a 2-0 victory over Leander High School. It was the senior goalkeeper’s fifth shutout. He has 41 saves this season through 13 games.
