Luis Cubilla, who represented Uruguay at the 1962, 1970 and 1974 World Cups as a player and won the Libertadores Cup twice as a coach with Paraguay's Olimpia, has died at the age
Cubilla, a forward, helped Uruguay reach the semifinals of the 1970 World Cup, where it fell to eventual champ Brazil, 3-1, and went on to a fourth place finish.
He played for both Uruguay's major clubs, Penarol and Nacional, winning four league titles. He also played for Spain's Barcelona for two seasons, winning the Copa del Rey, and River Plate in Argentina. He coached Uruguay at the 1991 and 1993 Copa Americas.
