Brazil will play Bolivia in a friendly next month where all the proceeds will go to the family of a 14-year-old San Jose fan who was killed by a firework during a Copa Libertadores game with Corinthians on Feb 20. The game will take place in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra on April 5, and the Brazilian team will pay its own costs and hand over its share of the ticket sales to the boy’s family, Brazil’s soccer confederation (CBF) President Jose Maria Marin said.

"[The Brazil squad] will go, play and come back on the same day," Marin said. "It's a sacrifice, but they will do it to show sporting solidarity, not just on behalf of the CBF but from the Brazilian people."

Kelvin Beltran was killed instantly when struck by a firework set off by Corinthians fans during the game on Feb. 20. Bolivian police arrested and charged 12 fans of the Sao Paulo-based club with homicide, although a 17-year-old Brazilian later turned himself in, claiming responsibility. All 13 are still in police custody.
