[AMERICANS ABROAD] Brad Friedel‘s bid for his first European trophy at the age of 41 remained alive as Tottenham blewthe three-goal lead it took to Italy to face Inter Milan but advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals thanks to UEFA’s use of away goals in overtime as a tiebreaker. Inter Milan led 3-0 afterregulation to even the series at 3-3, and the second leg ended 4-1 after overtime to make the aggregate score 4-4 and give Spurs the win on the tiebreaker.
