Brooks scores twice in Bayern debut

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Amber Brooks, who helped North Carolina win the 2012 NCAA Division I women's title, scored both goals, including the winning goal in the 90th minute, in Bayern Munich's 2-1 win over SGS Essen in her Frauen-Bundesliga debut.

Sarah Hagen also started for Bayern, which is fifth in the German league.

The play resumes Wednesday with the quarterfinals of the UEFA Women's Champions League:

-- Megan Rapinoe's status for defending champion Lyon's game at Stade de Gerland against Sweden's Malmo is uncertain. She did not play for the USA in the final of the Algarve Cup with an unspecified injury and missed Sunday's 5-0 derby win over St. Etienne in the French league.

-- U.S. international Christen Press has moved from FC Gothenburg to Swedish champion Tyreso FF, but Yael Averbuch and Cam Levin are all still with FC Gothenburg, which travels to France to face Juvisy.

-- Arianna Criscione should be in goal for Italy's ASD Torres CF when it travels to Arsenal Ladies, now coached by Shelley Kerr following the move of Laura Harvey to Seattle Reign FC.
