[TELEVISION] One of the nation’s top youth tournaments is getting increased television exposure on Time Warner Cable. The Dallas Cup, sponsored by DrPepper, will broadcast live and in high-definition all nine Gordon Jago Super Group games to be played at the Cotton Bowl, including the championship match on March 31.

The championshipgames of the other six age groups will be televised in standard-definition on a tape-delay basis in Texas markets. Time Warner Cable Deportes, the Spanish-language outlet, will televise eight SuperGroup games live and in HD.

“Time Warner Cable has shown a true commitment to support soccer in the North Texas area, demonstrated by their broadcasting agreements with Dr. PepperDallas Cup, FC Dallas, and the Dallas Sidekicks,” said Dallas Cup executive director Andy Swift. “Our historic broadcasting agreement with TWCfurther exemplifies Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup’s status as the top international youth soccer tournament in the country.”

Dallas Cup matches will be broadcast regionally on TimeWarner Cable Sports Channel in markets throughout Texas, and coast to coast in select markets serving New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, and Southern California. The matches televised on Time WarnerCable Deportes will be broadcast nationally on most Time Warner Cable systems. Viewers in Time Warner markets should check their listings for broadcast dates and times.

Time Warnerannounced earlier this year it had signed on to televise FC Dallas matches, and last year signed a lucrative TV deal with the Galaxy worth $55 million during its 10-year duration. It has televisedDallas Cup matches since 2009.

The 34th Dallas Cup kicks off Sunday with four Super Group matches at the Cotton Bowl, including a 6:30 p.m. clash between Manchester United and ClubAmerica.
