MLS clears deck between semifinal legs

[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Major League Soccer has rescheduled two regular-season games involving the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders to give the two remaining MLS representatives in the Concacaf Champions League a break between the two legs of their semifinal series. The league schedule released in January had created a similar break for the three MLS quarterfinalists between the two legs of the last round.

The Galaxy is scheduled to play Mexican club Monterrey at the Home Depot Center on April 3 and at Estadio Tecnologico on April 10. The Sounders face Mexico's Santos Laguna at CenturyLink Field on April 2 and at the Estadio Corona in Torreon on April 9.

For the Sounders, the change of their match against Chivas USA to Sept. 4 is particularly critical because it was originally scheduled to be played April 7, just two days before the second Santos game in Torreon.

The Galaxy's home game against the Montreal Impact, originally scheduled for April 6, has been moved to Oct. 16.
