Honduras rallies to tie Mexico, 2-2

[WORLD CUP 2014 QUALIFYING: Concacaf] While it was snowing in Colorado, temperatures hit 107 degrees Friday afternoon in San Pedro Sula. Welcome to the Hexagonal. Former Houston Dynamo striker Carlo Costly and the New England Revolution's Jerry Bengtson scored three minutes apart late in the game to give Honduras a dramatic 2-2 tie with Mexico in their World Cup 2014 qualifier in San Pedro Sula. Luis Henriquez's goal in the second half gave Panama a 1-1 tie at Jamaica in Friday's other Hexagonal match.

Manchester United's Javier Hernandez had scored twice to give him 30 career goals -- tied for sixth on the all-time Mexico scoring list.

Mexico was cruising until Hernandez left the game in the 65th minute and could not hold off the inspired Catrachos.

After Costly made it 2-1 in the 77th minute, Mexico captain Francisco Rodriguez took him down in the area for a penalty. Bengtson stepped up and hit his shot right at Mexico goalie Guillermo Ochoa, who could not hold on to the ball, allowing the Revs striker to put away his own rebound.

Three minutes later, Rodriguez was issued a yellow card, meaning he'll miss Tuesday's Mexico-USA game at Azteca Stadium. Jorge Torres Nilo also be unavailable for Mexico after picking up a yellow card in the first half.

The tie gave Honduras, the lone team to start with two home games, the Hexagonal lead after Day 2.

So what is your prediction Ric? USA Mexico. I can't comment on the snowy game. I mean there were times USA tried to play position. As kids that would of been fun. As pros? I am so glad there were no injuries. Okay, I did think Omar and Demarcus played well.Spain showed us how to play position but not win. Israel- Portugal was a thriller. And now we got Tuesday

Well, we cant say USA is not prepared for High altitude after yesterday's fiasco. Honduras got a penalty it shouldnt have and Mexico didnt get one it should have. Thats soccer. Play on!!
