Sueno MLS is back for its seventh year as the nationally televised talent search returns on Univision Network’s popular weekly sports entertainment program, República Deportiva, Sunday.

Former Colombian great Carlos Valderrama, who serves as the Sueno MLS Ambassador, will unveil the 2013 host cities, tryout dates and player registration details. Former Mexico keeper Felix Fernandez will oversee the goalkeeping competition to crown the Allstate Good Hands top goalkeeper award, El Portero Allstate.

Among the former Sueno winners are Chivas USA defender Jorge Villafana in the 2007 launch competition and 2008 winner 2008 Dallas winner Gabriel Funes Mori, who now plays for River Plate in Argentina.

MLS sponsors participating in Sueno MLS include presenting sponsor Allstate and adidas, Gatorade, Pepsi and Volkswagen.

JIMI CUP RETURNS. Another Hispanic marketing initiative back in 2013 is Tequila el Jimador's “Jimi Cup” contest that will provide 10 players with the opportunity to travel to Casa Herradura’s distillery in Amatitan, Mexico, to play a soccer match against Mexican and U.S. soccer legends.
In addition, el Jimador has this year released limited edition soccer bottles that will be available at retail accounts nationwide.

INDY PRO SOCCER HIRES DUNMORE. Soccer executive and writer (website Pitch Invasion and print periodical XI Quarterly) Tom Dunmore has been hired as Indy Pro Soccer's vice president of marketing and operations.

Indy Pro Soccer also announced a partnership with Indiana Champions League that pushes the 2014 NASL expansion team's season-ticket deposits past the 2,700 mark and allows it to represent the youth soccer organization’s marketing rights.

FIFA PROFITS. FIFA's executive committee approved the organization's 2012 financial report with a profit of $89 million on revenues of $1.166 billion. It increases FIFA's reserve fund by 7 percent to $1.378 billion.
