[HOMEGROWN WATCH] Jesse Gonzalez became the 10th homegrown signing for FC Dallas when the Mexican under-18 keeper signedwith the MLS club.

Gonzalez, who was born in Edenton, N.C., has started eight games this season for the FC Dallas U-17/18 team that is first in its division in the Development Academy. Heplayed for its U/15-16 team last season.

Another homegrown signing, Richard Sanchez, is the starting goalie for Mexico’s U-20 national team.

  1. If anyone understands Texas soccer they know that the border here is very fluid, and the soccer is a amalgamation of the two nations. The national team should be pulling more of these players before they are forced to choose between El Tri and Tio Samuel!

  2. Can we please get some stats on how many players are scouted to play for other countries before USA gets to them??
