USA to tune up at French tournament

[TOULON ESPOIRS] In its 41st year, the Festival International Espoirs de Toulon et du Var has been expanded to include 10 under-20 national teams. The USA, along with six other teams, will use the tournament to prepare for the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey. Brazil didn't qualify for the under-20 finals but will use the tournament as its first step in preparations for the men's soccer competition in the 2016 Olympics it will host.

France, Portugal, Colombia, Nigeria, South Korea and Mexico will also use the tournament as a tune-up for the Under-20 World Cup.

Two additional days were added to the tournament when it was expanded from eight to 10 teams. It will kick off May 28 and end June 8. The Under-20 World Cup begins on June 21.

Before Toulon, the U.S. U-20s will assemble for a camp in Los Angeles on April 22.
