Timbers reserves edge Tampa Bay in first interleague clash

[USL PRO] Colombian Jose Valencia scored in the 81st minute to give the Portland Timbers Reserves a 2-1 win over the VSI Tampa Bay FC in the first game of the new interleague schedule between MLS reserve teams and USL PRO clubs.

Michael Nanchoff had scored on a penalty kick in the 52rd minute to give Portland the lead, but Brazilian Mauricio Salles equalized for Tampa Bay six minutes later. The game drew 1,803 fans.

-- Dom Dwyer and Long Tan, who both spent last season in MLS, and Kevin Molino recorded goals for Orlando City in its 3-1 comeback win at Phoenix FC before 2,329 fans.

-- Richmond and Pittsburgh played to a 0-0 draw in front of 3,268 fans at City Stadium on Saturday night. Richmond's Ryan Kinne had the best chance with a shot off the crossbar in the second half. D.C. United loan players Conor Shanosky, Taylor Kemp, Casey Townsend and Andrew Dykstra all went the distance for the Kickers.
