Chelsea players dip in blue goo to sell you stuff

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] Things got messy when several of Chelsea's most prominent players were drenched in gallons of blue paint to film a new adidas commercial aimed at selling next year's jersey to Blues fans sight unseen.

The presumptuous slogan for this campaign implies you’re probably not cool enough to root for Chelsea if you actually need to see something before you purchase it. “It's blue, what else matters? -- Pre-order: 2013/14 adidas Chelsea FC kit WITHOUT seeing it.”

Petr Cech, John Terry, Oscar, Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata were among the half-naked players drenched in blue goo during a shoot that seems a lot more science fiction than soccer ad. The finished commercial can be seen HERE, with a handy link to Chelsea’s store, but the outtakes were funnier, and will be lighter on your wallet.

If you think David Luiz’s curly locks look bad when he’s sweating on the field, just wait till you see them dripping blue paint…
