Redknapp Questions QPR 'Talent'

Harry Redknapp questioned the “talent” he has at his disposal at Queens Park Rangers, following the relegation-threatened club’s 2-0 loss against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday. The former Tottenham coach warned his under-performing players that it won’t be easy for them to secure moves to Premier League clubs next season if indeed QPR goes down to the Championship (second division), as looks likely.

"You say talented players, but I don't know. Are they that talented? I don't know, really,” Redknapp said. "I hear all the time that, if they get relegated, they will want to go because they won't want to play in the Championship, but if they played better they would not be in the Championship, so that's a load of cobblers.”

The former Tottenham boss made it painfully clear that few EPL clubs would want to buy players from a relegated team that are tied to big-money contracts. "They won't go. How are you going to get rid of them? That's your biggest problem. They all have contracts,” he said. "I wish you were right, and you could say (the players would leave), but it ain't going to happen here. Who is going to pay them what they are earning here? It is going to be very hard to shift them."
