This summer, Real Madrid, Juventus, the Los Angeles Galaxy and five other international clubs will take part in the first edition of an annual knockout tournament in the U.S. SI.com reports that Real, Juve and the Galaxy of MLS are the first three clubs that have signed on to participate in the nationwide tournament (although one game will take place in Europe), which will feature two groups of four in Eastern and Western groups.

The ICC is the first foray into soccer for Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and his company, RSE Ventures, whose CEO is former New York Jets executive Matt Higgins. In October, the firm acquired the rights to the World Football Challenge, a series of preseason exhibition games for international clubs. That competition is now morphing into the ICC.
