Howard's Everton stymies Gunners

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Tim Howard's Everton held Arsenal to a 0-0 tie Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium in a result that won't help either team in their bid to finish in the top four of the English Premier League, which assures qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Howard was supported by an outstanding effort from his backline as the Toffees stayed in sixth place in the EPL with 56 points, two points behind Chelsea, which has two games in hand, and Tottenham, which has one game in hand on Everton, in a fourth-place tie.

Arsenal is third with 60 points and a two-point advantage on the fourth-place teams but like Everton has played two more games than Chelsea and one more than Tottenham.
