Marca reports that at La Romareda on Saturday, where Barcelona beat Real Zaragoza comfortably, 3-0, the Spanish champion-elect completed its 300th consecutive game of besting its opponent in ball
possession. That has to be a world record.
The last team to manage to beat Barca in possession was Real Madrid on May 7th, 2008, just shy of five years ago. Real managed 50.5 percent of
possession in the penultimate game of the 2007/08 season.
Since then, the Catalan club has dominated control of the ball in 300 games: 185 in La Liga, 62 in the UEFA Champions League, 39
in the Copa del Rey, 8 in the Spanish Super Cup, 4 in the FIFA Club World Cup and 2 in the European Super Cup.
