Mexico and Panama move into final

[CONCACAF UNDER-17 CHAMPIONSHIP] Mexico and Panama are the Concacaf giants at the under-17 level. They played each other at the quarterfinals of the 2011 Under-17 World Cup, which Mexico eventually won, and they'll meet in Sunday's final at the 2013 Concacaf Under-17 Championship in Panama City.

Mexico defeated Honduras for the second time at the Concacaf tournament with a 3-1 win in Wednesday's semifinals.

Two quick goals were the difference when Mexico won, 2-0, in group play, and goals by
Marco Granados and Salomon Wbias scored one minute apart late in the first half gave Mexico the lead on Wednesday.

Victor Zuniga added a third Mexico goal in the 84th minute before Christopher Alegria scored in stoppage time for Honduras, a 3-1 winner over the USA in the quarterfinals.

Ervin Zorrilla's goal in the 80th minute gave Panama to a 2-1 win over Canada in the nightcap.

Matthew Chow had given Canada the lead in the 5th minute, but Ismael Diaz equalized in the 37th minute with his third goal of the tournament.

Can we now say that Panama is the new up and coming soccer nation in Concacaf?? They are doing something right in producing now competitive teams that are playing good soccer. If we could only say the same about USA?? sigh

"Can we now say that Panama is the new up and coming soccer nation in Concacaf??" No, we can't. What have they done? Made it to the final game of a home tournament playing on fields that no one should be allowed to play on?

And by the way, Mexico and Panama didn't play each other at the quarterfinals of the 2011 Under-17 World Cup. They played in the round of 16.

Panama's seniors will make Brazil. Hey, they all played on the same field!! Same advantage!!! Where have we heard that before? Oh I know. Denver snow game. Anyways maybe up and coming is too much but they certainly have improved much. I wish I could say that about some other team.
