[AMERICANS ABROAD] Alonso Hernandez, who grew up in El Paso, Texas, became the latest American teen to debut in Mexico’sLiga MX, coming off the bench Friday night for Monterrey in a 1-0 loss to Santos, a preview of the Concacaf Champions League final.
Hernandez moved across the border to Indios of Juarezand then Monterrey, where he has been starring for its U-20 team.
He came on the 63rd minute of the Liga MX match and almost scored from 25 yards two minutes later.
