[AMERICANS ABROAD] American Christian Albelo's Hoffenheim clinched the under-15 title in Germany's Regionalliga Süd
with three games to play thanks to a 3-2 win at Wehen Wiesbaden on Saturday.
Both of Albelo's parents are in the military, and the family moved to
Germany last year when his mother received a job offer.
He started out at a small club, TSV Amicitia Viernheim, but moved to Hoffenheim after a scout watched him.
Hoffenheim has taken a particular interest in young Americans.
It signed Joseph Gyau and Charles Renken out of the U.S. U-17 residency program, and midfielder Russell Canouse joined Hoffenheim in 2012 from the U-17 residency program
when his father moved to Germany for work.
Philadelphia Union midfielder Zach Pfeffer, who is still only 18, joined Hoffenheim on loan this
year.
How come you never follow Alejandro Meleán ,an American born player who plays for Oriente Petrolero and the Bolivian National Team. He starts every game for first place Oriente Petrolero and he is a top goal scorer as a defensive midfielder.
For the reason that you stated... He plays in a league in Bolivia and not in Germany!
