Mexico wins fifth regional title

[CONCACAF UNDER-17 CHAMPIONSHIP] Mexico, which hasn't lost a U-17 match in regional play since 2003, won the Concacaf Under-17 Championship with a 2-1 victory over host Panama. Salomon Wbias' goal in the 70th minute was the difference in the final at Estadio Rommel Fernandez.

Jesus Araya gave the Panamanians their first-ever goal against Mexico in the U-17 tournament in the 51st minute, but Mexico equalized as Jaime De Garcia attempted to punch away Jose Robles' corner kick, but the ball went into the net in the 57th minute.

Panama had sent off Jomar Diaz sent off in the 71st minute with a straight red card for violent conduct, but it pressed for the equalizer and almost scored in the 90th minute when Milciades Molina's shot was cleared the ball off the line by a Mexican defender.
