Luis Suarez bites again

[VIDEO PICK: Off the Post] Luis Suarez was short-listed for the PFA Player of the Year earlier this week in England with the striker enjoying his finest season on the field for Liverpool, but Sunday’s incident at Anfield with Chelsea, the latest in a long list of transgressions by the talented Uruguayan, may cast doubt on his future.

In the 74th minute with Liverpool down 2-1 Suarez clearly bites Branislav Ivanovic. It wasn’t seen by officials and Suarez scored a stoppage-time equalizer that gave Liverpool a tie. Suarez and Liverpool’s hierarchy issued damage-control apologies after what will likely be his last EPL game this season, with just four matches left.

Suarez while with Ajax got a seven-game suspension in 2010 for biting PSV's Otman Bakkal on the shoulder in the Netherlands, an eight-game suspension last year for racially abusing Patrice Evra, and Suarez’s intentional handball in South Africa at the 2010 World Cup for Uruguay in the quarterfinals is why Ghana didn’t become the first World Cup semifinalist in its continent’s history, during the only World Cup ever played in Africa.

Coincidentally, the PFA’s chief executive was grilled about Suarez’s behavior prior to Sunday, and if it should’ve affected his consideration for its highest award.

"Sometimes controversy travels with players," said Gordon Taylor. "Sometimes it is in their very nature. Sometimes it is that very intensity that causes a problem also makes sure they win."

Ei don't they feed this guys there??
Did Ivanovic do something to provoke it?

I just love the way Luis plays the game, but this behaviour is hard to justify. Biting!!!!! What happened with the old fashion elbow to the face or something similar. The FA needs to take punish him for a while and maybe force him to wear the Hannibal Lecter mask when he gets back. ha

Luis may have been teased about his protruding upper teeth in his youth, and resorted to biting as a defense mechanism.

Or he may have been born with normal
orthodontia, but was a "biter" in his youth, and THAT caused the teeth to protrude.

Either way, the guy is nuts, and he should get a lifetime ban from ALL sanctioned professional soccer. He can work as a guard dog, wearing a "BEWARE" sign.

ha, thats funny Carl, but seriously, I would always point out to my son the passion the Luis posses when he plays the game. I'm sure he will be around for a while longer, if not in England, somewhere else. I think my son would probably now be embarressed to say he admires Suarez. Shameful...

I really don't understand why Suarez's handball in South Africa at the 2010 World Cup is listed along with the other transgressions. Why is a handball a heinous crime on par with biting?

I have thought that this season Suarez had been making good amends for his past but this is unforgivable. I hope Ivanovic gets tested for Hepatitis, AIDS and tetanus because with this rabid fool you never know. Brendan get rid of him now!! Liverpool is bigger than Suarez and King Kenny couldn't survive his hatred so get rid.
