Guzan honored at Aston Villa; Bradley's Roma falls short

[AMERICANS ABROAD] In England, Goalkeeper Brad Guzan was voted Aston Villa's Player of the Year by both the club's fans and his teammates. In Italy, Michael Bradley's chances of playing in next season's UEFA Champions League ended.

Guzan, who finally became a regular starter this season after serving as a backup since moving to England in 2008 at age 23, was voted Aston Villa’s Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Year.

-- Bradley was a late sub for Roma in a 1-0 loss to his former club, Chievo, that puts Roma out of contention for a third-place finish that would qualify it for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Cyril Thereau score the gamewinner in the 90th minute.

Rome is still in contention for a Europa League spot, which it would achieve if it finishes in at least fifth place or wins the Coppa Italia final against Lazio May 26.
