Torres' Tigres fall in first leg of playoffs

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Jose Torres' Tigres lost the first leg of its quarterfinal at city rival Monterrey, 1-0.

Tigres, which won the Liga MX regular-season title, failed to match a 19th minute goal by Chilean striker Humberto Suazo. Monterrey goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco made two big saves to preserve the Rayados' lead.

Midfielder Torres was replaced in the 30th minute by Israel Jimenez.
