Italy on Tuesday dropped AS Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo from its squad for the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup for publicly insulting Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli
both on the field and via his Twitter account after he was dropped for the Coppa Italia final, which city rival Lazio won 1-0 on Sunday.
The Argentine-born Italian was spotted on camera
hurling abuse at Andreazzoli and then refusing to pick up his runners-up medal after the game. “You’d have been better off just admitting you’re incompetent ... Go and celebrate with
Lazio...” Osvaldo wrote on his Twitter account.
In addition to being dropped by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, Osvaldo has now been put on the market by Roma. Napoli,
Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Fiorentina and Juventus are all rumored to be interested in the $22 million striker.
