Sante Fe on Tuesday eased into the Copa Libertadores Semifinals after beating Peruvian upstart Real Garcilaso, 2-0, in Bogota to claim a 5-1 series win.

The Colombian side made a fast start when striker Jeferson Cuero scored from long distance after just seven minutes. The home team doubled its lead in the 66th-minute when Garcilaso defender Rolando Bogado unintentionally played Jhon Valencia onside. Valencia then beat the goalkeeper to make it 2-0. Seven minutes later, the Peruvian team was reduced to 10 men when Ivan Santillan was sent off for a horrible tackle on Cuero.

"We don't want to stay in this position, we want more. This is the prize of the effort which the team made,” Sante Fe defender Yulian Anchico said after the game. "They are a great team which made history by playing good soccer in both the group stage and play-offs. We are proud of us because we beat a big team tonight."
