Quakes make 'right decision' to part ways with Yallop

[MLS SPOTLIGHT] A mid-season team review this week with San Jose Earthquakes president Dave Kaval, general manager John Doyle and head coach Frank Yallop resulted in a decision by theQuakes topart ways with their only coach since theirrelaunch in 2008. The move announced on Friday was made in an attempt to end their slide that has dropped them into eighth place in the Eastern Conference a year after they won the Supporter’s Shield.Assistant coach Mark Watson will serve as interim coach for the rest of the 2013 campaign.
