Soon-to-be Reign teammates return for two-game series

[USA-SOUTH KOREA] The U.S. women's national team begins a two-game series against South Korea Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. The game followed by Thursday's game at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. will be the final ones of the summer and last internationals before the end of the NWSL season.

U.S. head coach Tom Sermanni has called up 23 players for the two matches and will name 18 to suit up for each match.

He welcomes back Hope Solo, who has resumed play with Seattle Reign FC after undergoing wrist surgery, and Megan Rapinoe, who flew in Friday from France, where she finished her season with French league and cup champion Lyon. Rapinoe will join Solo at the winless Reign after the Korea series.

USA will carry a 32-game unbeaten streak dating back to last year into Saturday's game against South Korea, against which it holds a 5-0-1 record.

Real Salt Lake's Beckerman rejoins national team

[USA-HONDURAS] U.S. national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann recalled Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman to the team that is training in Salt Lake for Tuesday's World Cup 2014 qualifier against Honduras at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Beckerman started five of Klinsmann's first seven games in 2011, played five more games in 2012, including the 1-0 win at Mexico, but has its two appearances in 2013.

He served as team captain in the 0-0 draw against Canada in Houston and came on in stoppage time in the 1-0 win over Costa Rica for his lone appearance in the Hexagonal.

Beckerman's addition gives Klinsmann 23 players in camp. That includes Jermaine Jones, who did not dress against Panama after suffering a concussion in the Jamaica game.

Beckerman is expected to be one of the veterans Klinsmann will build his Gold Cup team around.
