Good and bad news for Catrachos

[USA-HONDURAS] Honduras got some good news as center back Osman Chavez, who was injured in the 1-0 loss to Costa Rica on June 7, resumed training and should be able to play Tuesday against the USA in their World Cup 2014 qualifier.

The Catrachos need Chavez, who plays in Poland for Wisla Krakow, because Victor Bernardez is suspended and Maynor Figueroa is injured.

Juan Pablo Montes started for Honduras in Chavez's place in its 2-0 win over Jamaica, though Johnny Leveron of the Vancouver Whitecaps was brought into camp in San Jose in case Chavez was unable to go. The only other center back in camp is David Velasquez.

Meanwhile, Oscar Boniek Garcia, who had the first goal against Jamaica, is still being treated by doctors. The Houston Dynamo midfielder left the game against the Reggae Boyz in the first half with an injury.

Forward Jerry Palacios, who missed the Jamaica game because of an injury, worked out on his own.

The Catrachos will train through Sunday in San Jose and leave for Salt Lake City on Monday morning.
