U.S. international Danny Williams on Wednesday completed a $2.6 million move from Hoffenheim to Reading, which was relegated to the Championship from the English Premier League last season. The 24-year-old made 21 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim last season.
“I see this as the next step in my career,” the holding midfielder said. “I am really looking forward to the season and trying to get the club back to the Premier League."
Williams has made nine appearances for the U.S. national team under Jurgen Klinsmann, who describes the Karlsruhe, Germany-born player as having “tremendous potential.”
