Harrisburg climbs closer to top, Dayton extends unbeaten streak

-- Dayton and Charlotte, two teams that did not make the playoffs last season, remained very much in the playoff hunt this season with a 2-2 tie at Beavercreek Stadium.
The Dutch Lions (6-2-5) twice came back from a goal down to tie the Eagles (5-2-7). Jorge Herrera set up Christian Ramirez, then scored himself for Charlotte, but Joel DeLass (on a rebound of his missed penalty kick) and Shane Smith (on a give-and-go with Brandon Swartzendruber) equalized for Dayton, which has played two less games than the two teams in front of it and the two teams behind it in sixth place.
“Today completed the first half of our season with 23 points in 13 games," Dutch Lions coach Patrick Bal said. "We’re very pleased. We have a nine-game undefeated streak, and that’s something, that’s huge. Today feels like more of a loss – I think we were the better team the whole game overall, but with the first half of the season going well, I can’t complain.”
