Marco Etcheverry to appear in Carlos Valderrama farewell game

Marco Etcheverry, who has left D.C. United after eight years, will play in Sunday's farewell game for Colombian great Carlos Valderrama.

Valderrama, a veteran of three World Cups, played seven seasons in MLS (1996-2002) for Tampa Bay, Miami and Colorado.

The game in Barranquilla will pit Colombians against a world all-star team including Eric Cantona, Jose Luis Chilavert, Cafu, Emilio Butragueno, Juan Sebastian Veron and Jorge Campos.

It will be televised live in the United States by Gol TV (Sunday, Feb. 1, 7 pm
