Fire kicks off title defense on Thursday

[SUPER-20 LEAGUE] The defending champion Chicago Fire heads the 16-team field at the 2013 Super-20 League Championship that kicks off Thursday at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

The Fire, which finished second to St. Louis Scott Gallagher in the Midwest’s Western Division, is joined by Alamo SC, Force Football Club and the Western United Pioneers in Group D.
 
Scott Gallagher is in Group A along with IMG Academy, which won the Southeast Division, and a pair of newcomers, Junior Lone Star FC and Beachside SC.
 
Group B includes the Toronto Lynx Jrs. and Ottawa Fury from Ontario as well as the Laredo Heat and Potomac SC.
 
Newcomer Pacesetter SC joins the Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association, Ironbound SC and Texas FC in Group C.

The Super-20 League Championship final will take place on Sunday.
