Red Bulls make it two titles in two years

[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY: U-17/18s] The New York Red Bulls followed up on their U-15/16 title in 2012 with the U-17/18 championship in 2013 thanks to a 2-1 overtime win over Shattuck-Saint Mary's Soccer Academy in the final at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Finals Week in Houston. Haitian U-20 international Jhon Estama scored the game-winning goal in the 115th minute.

Arun Basuljevic's shot was parried by Shattuck-Saint Mary's Canadian goalkeeper, Joseph Melong, but the rebound fell right to Estama in the middle of the box and he slammed it home for the 2-1 lead.

Cameroonian Lesley Nchanji scored the game's first goal on a feed from Wisconsin-Green Bay-bound Eddosa Muhammed to give Shattuck-Saint Mary's the lead in the 10th minute.

But the Red Bulls drew even when UConn recruit Ethan Decker unleashed a 25-yard strike that rose over Melong and underneath the crossbar to tie the score at 1-1 in the 30th minute.

Basuljevic was one of eight players, along with Kevin Politz, Steven Echevarria, Adam Najem, Vinny Brunetti, Alex Muyl, Chris Lema and Joe Swenson, to have played in last year's U-15/16 final win over St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri.

Three other players from the 2012 U/15-16 team have since turned pro: Matt Miazga and Amando Moreno (Red Bulls) and Izzy Tandir (Sochaux).
