Mexican club Monterrey is expanding its reach across the border in Texas with the launch of the the Copa Rayados Internacional Nov. 27-Dec. 1 in San
Matches will be played at the STAR soccer complex and Toyota Field, home of the NASL Scorpions.
"We have been looking for an opportunity to engage our fanbase in the
United States," said Nicolas Martellotto
, director of Monterrey's youth academy. "We have a great following and bringing an international youth soccer event is
perfect to create a family and cross cultural event to enjoy."
The tournament expects to attract 200 teams.
