Jose Mourinho offered kind words for both Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo following Real’s 3-1 International Champions Cup final win against Chelsea on Wednesday. The Portuguese said he hopes his former team wins La Liga this season and that Ronaldo continues to score goals.

"I wish the best to Real Madrid," Mourrinho said. "I have so many people that I like in the club starting with the president and finishing with the most simple and humble employees. I wish them very, very well and I'm happy that they're headed in the right direction and I have no problem saying I hope they win La Liga."

Prior to the match, Mourinho had given an interview to ESPN in which he said that Ronaldo wasn’t “the real one,” and the 28-year-old superstar responded by scoring twice as his team comfortably defeated Mourinho’s men at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Fla.

"He's a great player and he's scored goals his whole life," the Blues coach said. "When he scores, it's not big news. When he doesn't score, it is big news ... I hope he celebrates a lot in La Liga and I hope he's helps Real Madrid to win the title back."
