AC Milan, which was found guilty of fixing matches during this past season, has been forced to dodge another bullet after being reinstated to the UEFA Champions League by the Italian Soccer
Federation. UEFA isn't certain Milan should be allowed to participate in this year's competition given the club's indictment, calling an "emergency panel" to review the case. While a verdict was
expected to be announced tomorrow, UEFA decided to postpone its decision on the club's right to play in the tournament until after tomorrow's third-round qualifying draw. Instead, the Milan club will
be entered on a "provisional basis" pending a final decision, which is expected by next Wednesday. The Guardian says the news is good for Milan because UEFA will be less likely to kick teams out after
the draw due to seeding requirements. The Italian Soccer Associated decided Milan could be reinstated to the Champions League after an appeals court reduced the number of points it was deducted last
season to 30, moving the club down to third place from second, which qualifies them for Champions League qualifying.
