Chivas USA midfielder Gabriel Farfan
and forward Tristan Bowen
were each suspended for one additional game for their actions in Sunday's 1-1 against the Colorado Rapids during which they were both sent off.
Farfan was sent off with a straight
red card in the 33rd minute for his foul on Shane O’Neill
near the team benches, and the MLS Disciplinary Committee unanimously determined that his
actions endangered the safety of his opponent. Therefore, Farfan will be suspended for two games -- one for having received a red card in Sunday’s game and one imposed by the MLS Disciplinary
Bowen was ejected in the 63rd minute after being issued a straight red card for spitting. The Committee unanimously determined that he committed an intolerable act of
disrespect. Bowen, who initially claimed his gum fell out his mouth, will also be suspended for two games -- one for the red card and the second imposed by the Committee.
They'll both sit
out the rest of August as Chivas USA is off this weekend. They will miss the remaining two matches of Chivas USA’ three-game homestand against FC Dallas and the New York Red Bulls. They will be
eligible for the Sept. 1 road match against Vancouver.
LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena

after the Aug. 11 game against FC Dallas.
Arena ripped the officiating after Dallas scored two goals that should have been called back for offside
