Rosenborg advanced to the semifinals of Norway's NM Cupen with a 2-1 win over Valerenga four days after they played to a 0-0 tie that reduced its lead at the top of the Tippeligaen to two points.

Five days after beating Arsenal, 3-1, Brad Guzan's Aston Villa returned to London, where it fell to Chelsea, 2-1, in the English Premier League play.
