[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Week 2] The Montreal Impact fielded only two starters from its MLS game on Saturday and paid with a 1-0 loss at tiny Heredia in
Guatemala City -- the first by an MLS club this season to a non-MLS club.
The Impact, which beat the San Jose Earthquakes, 1-0, in the opener, had Spaniard
Piscu sent off in the 44th minute and held off the Guatemalan club until Colombian
Charles Cordoba scored in the 88th minute
Heredia,
which was making its regional debut, finished with a 15-5 edge in shots, but Montreal had the best chance until Cordoba's goal.
Blake Smith hit the crossbar in
the 72nd minute.
The Impact, which faces a busy week, did not bring Italians stars
Marco Di Vaio and
Alessandro Nesta and midfielder
Patrice Bernier on the trip.
The Group 5 game was moved to Guatemala City because from Heredia's
Estadio Del Monte in Morales didn't meet Concacaf standards.
-- Olimpia of Honduras matches Sporting Kansas City with a win at Nicaragua's Real Esteli in Group 2.
Bayron Martinez's goal in the 46th minute was the difference in the game.

When the Quakes played Montreal, they fielded exactly ZERO players from their MLS game on the previous Saturday. MLS coaches either take this tournament seriously or bow out.
