U.S. U-19 WOMEN: Another Kerri Hanks hat trick paces 11-1 rout of T&T

Bristyn Davis scored twice in her tournament debut, and Megan Rapinoe scored her third goal and added two assists as the Americans hammered Trinidad & Tobago, 11-1, in a Group B clash at Molson Stadium on the McGill University campus in Montreal.
Hanks, who also netted a hat trick in FridayÆs 14-0 rout of the Dominican Republic, is the eight-nation tournamentÆs leading scorer with six goals. The University of Notre Dame-bound Texan, a veteran of the 2002 world-championship U.S. U-19 squad, has scored 18 goals in 23 international U-19 appearances.
The United States closes Group B play Tuesday against Costa Rica (2-0-0), which clinched a semifinal berth Sunday by dominating the Dominican Republic, 11-0, as Maciel Chacon scored three goals and Shirley Cruz added a pair.
Canada and Mexico also reached the final four with Group A victories in Ottawa. The winners of FridayÆs semifinal games in Montreal will advance to the Nov. 10-27 FIFA U-19 WomenÆs World Championship in Thailand.
Canada routed Panama, 7-0, as Aysha Jamani scored two goals and five others found the net, including Kara Lang, Brittany Timko and Josee Belanger. Carmen Padilla, a U.S. product, scored three in MexicoÆs 6-2 victory over Jamaica.
The U.S. women outshot T&T, 27-1, the only shot --- by substitute Kennya Cordner --- beating substitute goalkeeper Kelsey Davis in the 86th minute.
Yael Averbuch, Angie Woznuk and Rachel Buehler scored goals, and the Americans benefited from a pair on own goals, one in each half, by Soca Princesses defender Kia Rigsby.
The first of Bristyn DavisÆ goals was initially ruled an own goal, too.
Hanks scored in the 39th, 67th and 85th minutes, and her shot off the right post led to the first own goal, in the 26th minute. Hanks scored from AverbuchÆs through ball in the first half, then redirected a Stacy Lindstrom cross for her second goal, and beat a defender and rounded Thomas after receiving a long ball from Rapinoe.
Averbuch gave the U.S. women an eighth-minute lead, running onto a bouncing ball from Stephanie Lopez and slipping it underneath T&T goalkeeper Gail Ann Thomas, who should have done more with it. Woznuk got the second two minutes later, firing just under the crossbar from the top of the box after Nikki Krzysik fed her from a post-corner kick scramble.
Krzysik set up DavisÆ second goal in similar fashion for a 6-0 lead in the 64th minute. Buehler headed home a Lindstrom corner kick for the eighth goal, and Davis set up Rapinoe in stoppage time for the 11th.
