Lazio punished for racist chants

Italian club Lazio has been ordered to close part of its home stadium for the opening Serie A weekend as punishment for alleged racist chanting by fans directed at Juventus players during last weekend's 4-0 Supercoppa final.

"We heard it, they're ignorant," said Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. "What can I do? I'm alone against 30,000 fans. They do that even though there are black players in their team.

Lazio fans were found guilty of racist behavior by UEFA four times last season. In February, the Rome club was ordered to play its following two home European games behind closed doors following crowd trouble.
