Johannsson scores in fifth straight AZ game

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Aron Johannsson, who recently debuted for the U.S. national team, made it five goals in his first five club games of the season for AZ, scoring in its 3-1 win at Greek club Atromitos in the first leg of their Europa League playoff series on Thursday.

Johannsson, who is now AZ's main striker with the departure of Jozy Altidore to Sunderland, has scored in three Eredvisie games and the Johan Cruijff Schaal, the Dutch Super Cup, as well as the Europa League playoff match.

The former Icelandic under-21 international arrived from Danish club AGF Aarhus in January.

Conor O'Brien did not play for Danish club FC Nordsjaelland in its 1-1 tie with Sweden's Elfsborg, nor did backup keeper Brad Friedel for Tottenham in its 5-0 win over Georgia's Dinamo Tbilisi.

Terrence Boyd is injured and did not suit up for Rapid Vienna in its 1-0 win over Georgia's Dila Gori.
