UCLA's Miranda scores directly on a corner kick

[VIDEO PICK: Olimpico] Freshman Gabbi Miranda needed only four minutes to score -- on an Olimpico no less -- for No. 3 UCLA in its 4-0 win over Northeastern.

With lanky Sam Mewis standing in front of Northeastern keeper Paige Burnett, Miranda fired her shot into the far side of the goal to give the Bruins the lead.

Miranda, a product of Colorado Rush, was one of two freshmen to start for the Bruins along with Darian Jenkins, with whom she played on the U.S. under-17 women's national team. Jenkins put UCLA ahead 3-0 in the 16th minute.
