Freshman Gabbi Miranda
needed only four minutes to score -- on an Olimpico no less -- for No. 3 UCLA
in its 4-0 win over Northeastern.
With lanky Sam Mewis
standing in front of Northeastern keeper Paige
, Miranda fired her shot into the far side of the goal to give the Bruins the lead.
Miranda, a product of Colorado Rush, was one of two freshmen to start for the Bruins
along with Darian Jenkins
, with whom she played on the U.S. under-17 women's national team. Jenkins put UCLA ahead 3-0 in the 16th minute.
